AMA’s 2012: Fashion Report!

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone got a chance to catch the AMA’s last night because there were some outstanding performances from the biggest names in the music industry. My favourite performers of the night were definitely from The Wanted, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber! However, my overall favourite part of the show….and of every other award show… was the red carpet! This year, a ton of the stars were strutting the red carpet with intricate embroidery detail and shiny sparkles. Here are some of my favourite looks from the evening.

My favourite look of the night was brought to us by Taylor Swift!

Taylor looked flawless  in this long sleeve, floral embroidered dress with gold beadwork detail and an open back by Zuhair Murad. Her hair was styled into a retro up-do and her make-up complimented her look appropriately. This will deffinatly go down as one of my favourite Taylor Swift looks of all time!

On the other hand, Nicki Minaj looked like a  hot mess…. as always!

Buzzing: Taylor Swift’s New Album

Hey everyone!

So, I’m going to start off by saying that Taylor Swift is one of my role models! Not only does she have a killer sense of style but many girls can relate to her and her music. Her new album is set to be released on October 22 and I know many fans (like myself) are really excited to hear her new music since its been 2 years since her last album release! Taylor has already released three songs from this album. The first single has been a huge hit on the charts for months now called “Never Ever Getting Back Together” and I’m sure everyone has heard the song by now! Recently, Taylor released her second song, called “Begin Again” which is more like the old Taylor Swift sound. Lastly, she released the title track, “Red”, this week and it has definitely been on repeat since I’ve heard it! So remember the date, October 22, and pick up Taylor Swift’s new album because it’s sure to be a huge hit!

For those of you who love award shows (like me) and who love music (like me), you know that the MTV Video Music Awards’s are one of the most anticipated music award shows. I love the VMA’s because the fans are the ones who chose the winner and they always have the best artists lined up to perform. Demi Lovato: Pink Dip Dye… Hit or Miss?

Hey everyone! in the last few weeks Demi Lovato has been rocking a pink dip dye in her recently dyed blonde hair.

This new hair do is great way to add a little color to your hair for summer and if you want to try it out, you can always use temporary hair dye! It seems like many of her fans love her hair because at her recent concert in Toronto that we attended, a lot of the fans were rocking the same pink ombre hair style !

PART 2: Tips to Help You Get That Rocking Summer Bod: Lifestyle

Cardiovascular Diseases are Avoided with Healthy HabitsHey there! Here is Part 2 of our health tips for getting in shape for summer. Changing a few things in your every day life can help you burn fat and get a shape to live a healthier life!

1. Get C and D. Vitamin C can help you burn more fat, and D may help you lose fat, research notes. Aim for 400 to 500 mg of C and 800 mg of D a day.

2. Walk more (in denim). Researchers found that fitness-friendly offices (think treadmill desks, mobile headsets) helped people trim pounds and fat, as did wearing jeans to work, since dressing casual encourages you to move more. Wear comfy clothes when you can, pace while on the phone, and stand while chatting with co-workers.

3. Add fish oil (And work out). Taking 6 grams of fish oil per day and hitting the gym three times a week can help nix body fat, an Australian study reveals.

4. Eat a smaller dinner. Your body may not digest food — and burn fat — as efficiently if you down a huge meal right before bedtime, especially because your metabolism is slower while you sleep, Dr. Manfroy says.

5. Jump-start your morning. Wake up your metabolism — and get fat-burning started — by doing some sort of exercise within the first few hours of being awake, Cooper suggests.

6. Get your snooze on. Sleep for a solid 81D 2 hours instead of 51D 2, according to research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, and you’ll lose more fat. Sweet dreams!

7. Move It. Daily exercise is one of the most important healthy lifestyle tips. Exercise on a daily basis for at least 30 minutes per day. Brisk walk, aerobics, or just any kind of bodily movement can do wonders for your health.

8. Be Positive. Have a positive outlook on your life and getting in shape. People who are positive tend to have better health and success in life then those who are negative thinkers.

9. Nix the boob tube. Cut your TV time in half, and you’ll burn more calories each day, research from the University of Vermont suggests.

10. Park farther. At work, school, or anywhere you go, instead of trying to find the closest parking spot, go for a farther spot. Parking a little farther than usual can help you input some more physical activity in your life.

10 Tips to Help You Get That Rocking Summer Bod: In the Kitchen

Summer is fast approaching and I know all of us ladies want to get in shape before beach season hits! These healthy eating tips will help you get squeeze into that bikini or help you improve your health. After all, you are stuck with your body for the rest of your life so you might as well treat it right.

1. Get more protein. Eating a protein-packed breakfast and lunch helps you burn more post-meal fat than if you eat lower-protein meals, according to Australian research.

2. Guzzle green tea — or coffee. Downing five 5-ounce cups of green tea a day boosts metabolism, says Lyssie Lakatos, R.D., author of “Fire Up Your Metabolism.” Two cups of coffee will also do the trick, one study shows.

3. Have an omelet. Eating two eggs for breakfast while dieting will help you trim more weight and body fat than if you ate the same amount of calories noshing on a bagel, scientists say.

4. Stay above 1,200 calories… ”The average person’s body goes into starvation mode if she eats fewer than 1,200 calories a day,” says Eric Berg, author of “The 7 Principles of Fat Burning.” “That’s stress, and stress creates more belly fat.”

5. … and cut calories gradually. If you diet, don’t trim more than 250 calories a day. Cutting calories too quickly slows your metabolism down, Dr. Manfroy says.

6. Munch on these. Almonds, cherries, yogurt, grapefruit, whole grains, and spicy foods have all been shown to torch fat.

7. Fuel up right. Eating a low-glycemic-index breakfast (such as muesli and peaches) will help you burn more fat during a subsequent workout than eating a high-glycemic-index meal (like waffles), researchers from the University of Nottingham reveal.

8. Think before you drink. Sipping as few as 90 calories’ worth of vodka can slow your metabolism by 73 percent, one study shows.

9. Graze. Women who go without eating for long periods are more likely to have higher body-fat percentages than women who nosh more regularly, one study notes.

10. Skip juice. Reaching for an apple instead of apple juice is not only better calorie-wise, but it’ll also do a better job of boosting your metabolism, Dr. Manfroy explains.

These stars are captured eating healthy, even if they weren’t captured at their best angle, they are just like us 🙂
